Well after you enter the receipt notice, automated service gives you the information and then you can press the option that you did not find any info and then it will connect to a rep and tell him to open an SR
Atleast this is what I did

Has the issue of waiting times before being eligible to apply for citizenship been raised at all by Immigration Voice?? Currently one needs to wait for 5 years after being granted permanent status to be eligible to apply for citizenship. Now, considering the current backlog and the fact that Congress has mandated processing times to be much less than what we are experiencing, has the issue of getting credit for the lost backlog years in the citizenship process been raised? As I explained it to a friend the other day: This is becoming a retirement program - over 5 years at labor cert + another 4 at USCIS + 5 years waiting period + 3 years citizenship process = 0ver 17 years before we can cast a vote in this nation to which we contribute economically, intellectually, and socially. Not to forget that we are the ones doing things by the book and following the law on immigration.

What I posted was a plea to introspect (more so as the first anniversary of the D.C. rally approaches) - it was in no way dismissive of your efforts, or an effort to ridicule or demean your thread or its spirit.
Not sure why you felt the need to be rude - being firm and clear about your goals is a sign of leadership, and being blunt may get you some more brownie points. However, brash/rude behavior is not a substitute for that clarity and firmness, imho - particularly with those who may be working towards the same goals as you are (albeit coming at it from a different angle).

finally got to know from my bank that checks were encashed. checked the receipt nos. on back of checks. notice receipt date is 10the sept.
i had mailed the papers on july 27th and NSC receipt date was 30th july.

I-140 is for future job, and the petition says that the original employer has *intent* to hire the petitioner on FT/"perm" job. Now, let's say the original employer withdraws the petition after 180 days of filing I-485 and approved I-140 and lets you go. That's where AC21 comes to rescue, and you can become "self-employed" rather than "unemployed." Question is, why can't self-employment in same/similar occupation as your I-140 petition be considered to satisfy I-140 requirement? (Fortunately, yes it can be, per Yates memo.) Another situation: If you continue working with the same employer on H-1B until you get your GC, and leave him the next day of getting GC, and then plan to take a long holiday (not working). Would your GC be canceled because you don't have a FT/"perm" job?

Working on EAD for a short time, even in a different occupation, with 1099 is not an issue. However, this will not satisfy the requirement for 485 approval. You must have a valid fulltime, permanant job offer in the same or related occupation at the time of 485 approval as well as when they issue a RFE regarding your employment.

Try to call the service center directly, e.g. call at a time when the service center is open. The 1-800 number will transfer you automatically and you should hear something like "welcome to NSC/TSC, etc...". If the service center is closed and they transfer you to the national customer service something you can hang up because they're useless. All they know is to open SRs which get routed to the thrash bin.
I did exactly as in the post above, except for the part where I tell them I'm "depressed" (they probably figured I was anyway :)) and I got my FP notice three days later. what the heck is happening to this stupid organization. did some one fart in the brains of the USCIS and DHS leadership. All I am saying is dont you idiots understand that the constant stress and pressure being faced by us with these dates going back and forth. keep them constant at a particular date, finish processing them and then move them one day at a time. then we will know when we will get the green cards. why move foraward give some one from 2006 green card and then push it to 2000 (who the f**k does not know that there is no one there in 2000).

We all morons and still wont learn, we will still start predicting for next visa bulletin hoping that a reincarnation of god will come and deliver us visa numbers.
Unless we all make a collective effort no one is going to listen to us. I know the fate of my post, we all will get busy to get our post noted or express our opinion which will definitely solve our problem or proving our point the that "i am right you are wrong" or get busy with "my ideas are better than yours" or "who wins the quote slamming contest".
We have simply lost our fous of our main problem . I think we deserve this perhaps I think if we continue like this we dont even deserve GCs.[/QUOTE]

I came to us on H4 in 2007 and the got my H1B in 2008. I am not getting a job on H1 yet so i want to know that till when the H1B be valid as I am not genarating any salery and my consultant is not running my pay roll ?
And if the H1 goes dorment then what can be done next?
Hmmm ... not generating salary, means you are not working currently. But your employer hasn't revoked your H1 ( or work authorization, i don't recall exact term), which mostly they do or are supposed to do. Which is good, if you have freindly terms ask for to be sent on un-paid leave. Plus if you have paid leave pending, maintain that so incase your employer has to issue pay check, he can tap into this.

Hey GUYS!! My checks got cashed today!!! All six of them!!! Don't have the receipts but got the SRCs from the back of the checks. Mine is NSC delivered Jul2, 1025AM J BARREETT..Finally very happy to get tehse. I hope everyone will ge tthem very soon...Thanks.
