don't have the guts to take care of anything person to person. That will only go to show how right the right things you do are. Do you know how a person that never does a wrong thing ( "I always do the right thing regardless of the time or place") threatens that he will bring people who do not belong in the conversation to the conversation to show how capable he is.

We have received our cards without getting CPO email. I got email for welcome notice sent on 08/05 and then approval notice sent on 08/08..got cards on 08/11..hope this helps...

Your lawyer is absolutely wrong. All applications received on or before 17th Aug.2007 must be received by USCIS, even if they can't open the the packets on or before 17th Aug.2007.

I have a feeling that the restrictionists may seek to attach HR 6283 along with the SKIL Bill to any appropriations bill...the restrionists have long been trying to cut family immigration (which they call chain migration)..what do you think?

as gc28262 has indicated, that proper analysis and the correct interpretation of the law is needed to change such matters. Unless, EB3 people come out of the lethargic content/self pity and start working on the issues as if their life depended on it (it does) - just writing to the senators and representatives will not help. The legislative offices is not going to do the analysis (in the time that matters to us) and address it to the USCIS. However, if we do the ground work and then approach them, we may have a better chance of succeeding.
Whenever EB3 asks for writing to senators and congressmen, EB2 folks will discourage, but when Eb2 wants to write to the same group everyone encourages.
Why is this pathetic response to a Eb3 guy.
Please remember prior to BackLog days there was not much difference in time span for getting a GC and Employers wanted to cut back on paper process and used to file in EB3 only.
SO please never say High caliber as EB2. there are highly experinced and excpetionaal guys in EB3, but due to Employers negligence and bad luck they are in EB3.

Thanks for clarifying. At first glance, the points you propose seem eminently reasonable and cannot be disputed. However, the real issue here is not what we "should" but what we "can".
Re contacting NumbersUSA and FAIRUS, do go ahead but I'm certain there is no chance of them holding hands with us and singing 'Kumbaya'. The discussions and postings on those sites look like they have been written up by "Ed Anger" of the World World News :D
And re toning down immigration bills to our advantage, you have to recognize that the primary issue is not that a bill will be passed which will not be optimal - the issue is whether any bill will be passed at all.

1. We should focus our resources and lobbying efforts to tone down immigration bills on our behalf. Spending our money to go there and put one more soul to say to Sen. Specter "vote for this bill" does not cut it.
2. We should use our lobbying resources and connections to contact decision makers from NumberUSA, FAIRUS.org and other major organizations and communicate our plans. We should clearly adopt a position against any bill which supports amnesty and offer a sensible, reasonable and fair quantitative increase in Employment Visa numbers. An example of reasonable proposals would be temporary increase of visa numbers, elimination of visa lottery and reallocation of visa numbes to EB, visa number recapture.
