Sorry if I am posting on wrong thread. I am in the process of sending my documents for EAD renewal and had few questions
Do we need to include a cover letter ?
Also I am sending the following documents.
1) copy I-485 receipt notice
2) copy of EAD (front and back)
3) two color photos
4) Filing fee check $340
5) Mailer stub received from previous EAD.
Am I missing anything else?
A cover letter even though not required, is always a good idea. Do mention in bold that you want the new EAD to start from mm/dd/yy which is when your current one expires, otherwise it could start from the approval date and you could lose 2-3 months. I'd keep the cover letter short, just 2-3 lines plus doc list.

There are 1000s waiting for receipts , filed before July 24th . Hope someone apprises USCIS that people are aware of it & they cannot fool millions just by a silly update (who is asking for it anyways!)!

Please tell me, why are you so frustrated ? Because you are not able to live as comfortable life as you desire ? Most of you are highly educated, if you go back to India you will be among the top 2-3% of population. But you do not want to, you have personal reasons, you have many other things not to go back.
How justified some of us are when we say, we paused our life because of we do not have green card ? If we do have this mentality, then we need to grow up. And yes, we need to look back to India where more than 40% people live below poverty line.
If you believe in God, then thank him that he even gave you an opportunity to make yourself better financially. If you do not believe in God then thank your luck. But be thankful.

I am a lurker in this site. This is my first post. I have seen many posts by United Nations. He has helped and still trying to help many users at IV. His posts has insight and valuable information. Doubting his intentions just because he is in this society for 35 years is not appropriate.
I agree, UN has given good, free advice and information worth thousands of dollars in here without any malice, and he's always ready to give any info, i think he deserves more respect that someone childishly questioning him.

I do not understand why people spend their energy in coming up with some lame ideas. Just because you suffer does not mean that your fellows have to suffer, what is the point of being a sane individual with that kind of thought process.
There are people who come here on all kinds of visas F1, H1, L1 and like this country and stay back and need a green card for convenience. Students who came here want priority over people who came on H1B. It makes sense from their point of view.
Similarly people on H1B who got stuck in several stages and had to change the company have their own point of view.
How bout having a lame rule saying that GC for people with I.Q of 140 and above?

How bout having a lame rule like if you have a family you will be penalized by putting you at the end of the line for GC?
The list can go endless..
Worry less about who is cutting the line and getting ahead and please concentrate and put your energy and come up with good ideas and showing what we are really capable of..

I changed my job twice using AC-21 informed USCIS once, I don't see any risk itz a law, as long as you are able to produce paperwork that your current job is similar to previous one you are safe, any decent employer would give you a supporting letter (oh ya exluding blood sucking desi pimps).
I find many guys calcluate too much and let go good opportunities, get real guys no one is behind you if you have job and not done anything wrong,
I really don't care when I get my GC as long as they renew my EAD ( I am on my foruth EAD)

On July 25th lawyer sent my documents 140 & 485 concurrent, PD port from previous I-140 approval (approved at Nebraska).
Reached Nebraska Service Centre on July 26th.
Will it be processed at Nebraska Service centre or Texas Service centre? According to new direct filing instructions my employer and my residence comes under Texas Service centre.

I am EB3, and i know we EB3 are screwed , and EB2 are luckier than us.
There is no need to fight,
If we dont get the GC , we can go back home(for me home is india) .... believe me home is not so bad( even after the blasts) Just enjoy your time here, live for the moment.

Ok that is funny. So I have been waiting for 6 years now here and that is nothing. some kid comes in here and struggles to complete his MS and then just works for 3 years and gets in line before me !!
Not trying to sound negative here but it looks like a lot of people here are Masters ( either in EB2 or EB3 ) ?
I guess you do not have the slightest idea of the struggles and financial uncertainty of studying in the U.S. As a matter of fact THIS IS FAIR. Did you know that it cost over $20 K to go to school here just in tuition (with out any assistantship's, which is the norm for over 5 years now with the bad economy first and the lack of funding to graduate schools across the country) and most people who come on student visas gain experience through internships( on OPT's and CPT's) making as little as $10/ hour, not to mention working for minimum wages as they study to make ends meet and then and finally the effort of paying off student loans back home. Not only that a majority of people who come on F1 visas to U.S educational institutions pursue Advance degrees in not so "lucrative" fields in terms of job prospects like core engineering fields, pure sciences and many of them go on to get PhD and become researchers.
That is exactly what the U.S wants; they want the brain drain to resurface to bring about innovation in engineering and sciences. The only folks that come to work directly in the U.S are the IT folks so you are looking at a small spectrum of people. Again this is a long awaited gesture from U.S immigration system to people's trials and tribulations who take the long and winding road to pursue advance degrees in the U.S and eventually get on to work and enhance their professional goals.
