My LC is still in process after auditing (EB2). My employer wants to 'drastically' cut back my salary due the national depression, which is particularly affecting the field my company is operating in (sub-primes). If he does that, and I accept it, is LC in jeopardy? We filed back in September 2007 with a certain salary and now it will be lower. Do we have to communicate the change to the DOL? And if yes, what will happen? Do we have to re-file? Thank you to everybody for all the info you can give me! Really!:(
I think GC and your LC is for future job and as long as employer has ability to pay based on their financials it should be fine. But again I am no expert check with your immigration lawyer.

I am really amazed to see the verbal war of words between these two artificially created groups aka the lines of "Divide and Rule" policy by the erstwhile masters of our country...
I can understand the feelings but the profanity and the language used won't lead us anywhere.
Frustration is the only common thing among the EBI applicants...some more some less...
I know of a lot of EB2s like me who came to this country for higher studies more than a decade back and got delayed in filing for their residency and had to suffer...While many who came with a job here and filed using EB3 then, have their parents as residents now....
Why is there no anger towards the many L1 managers who get residency through EB1.without much educational qualifications and forget about national interest waiver...I know a few, who came in 2006 and are residents within a year or so....
I also saw many of my friends through unfair labor substitutions got ahead of me unfairly and are now citizens...
Bottomline is people won't apply in a particular category unless they think it is best in their interests...In this economy most companies are tightening their purse.....it is a common fact that 90% of EB I applicants are software engineers.the demand of which will wane over the years in the immediate future and next generation technology demand will increase aka green and biotech....and much water has flowed in Mississipi since the days of Y2K when even people with fraud degrees and vague backgrounds came here and flourished......
The infighting reminds me of the crab story in which of all the baskets of various sea animals/fishes in a fish market the only basket whose lid was open was one with crabs...a buyer when enquired the uniqueness of that crab basket was promptly told by the seller that in this basket if any crab wants to go out and be free all the other crabs will join and pull it back to the basket so I don't have to worry.......
Let's not be these crabs....I am sure there exists common grounds in IV otherwise if this continues I am sure there will be a vertical split in IV...between EB2 and EBI..and ROW will laugh at us.........

I did think about doing it this way, but it didn't feel the "right thing to do"...

I've read multiple posts but it is not clear if an EAD recipient can do contract work on W2.
My situation is that I work for a desi consulting co. and currently doing corp to corp with TekSystems. TekSystems is OK to employ me as a W-2. However, it is contract based employment. Could Gurus please advice if an EAD recipient can work on W-2 with vendors like TekSystems.

Is this her first time into US? if so, i guess they are trying to make sure your h1b is still valid. Since they see that you entered on AP, it might be confusing them. I am assuming you work for the same h1 employer who also sponsored your GC. Now all attorneys have told us that the law says you can resume your h1b once you are back on AP but lot of IO's don't care about it. Now you can just send an employer/personal letter stating that you are currently in the same job for which your H1 is approved and also have a I140 pending/approved for the same. Mention that you are still on H1b while you entered using your AP. Hence you never got your H1b visa stamped at the consulate. It shouldn't be a problem unless you are trying to get H$4 via a H1b from a former employer while you are working on EAD for someone else.

My wife explained them that I used AP, but they still believe that a visa page is missing in the supporting docs. So they have retained the passport and asked to submit 'current copy of husband's visa'. hi beuhler....if i understand your reply correctly, you meant that as long as there is proof that your marraige date(marraige certificate) is prior to gc approval notice...there is 6 months to file for the i485 for the wife even though she may be in india at the time of marraige?

I missed the last rally and I regret it. There was a moment in time when we were all really energized. The flower campaign was brilliant. But now we seem to have lost that fire - me included! I dont even remember my dates anymore. I know we have a serious problem of getting people together for anything. But starting small in our own cities and connecting to a national IV would probably work. I am here in Sterling Heights, MI (Detroit Metro Area) and I am willing to host people in my area It will be great if others in other cities can do that too. I am dre. ming, but think about it if this works. We can march to washigton again such large numbers that everyone will notice. I really think its time to get together and do something. Bouncing ideas on IV boards is great but lets meet and get to know each other and see if can talk about this problem face to face across the country. Thats what grassroot effort it!. If nothing, we will find new friends in each other. I hope to find that fire in us again and I thank you for reading my post!

IMHO, do not sacrifice the career (either yours or your wife's) for the sake of GC .... the amount of money and experience that you stand to lose by not progressing in the career is very difficult to recoup after you get your GC. In this economy, more experience you gather, better will be your chances of securing a higher position and income. I always chose career over GC ... which delayed my GC by about 5 years, but the extra income and experience have more than made up for it ...
The good news is that you have an approved I-140, so you have a priority date that you can always use irrespective of type of application and/or sponsor (which means, you can file for a new I-140 based on your new job but with the old priority date). Do ask your new employer if they are open to file in EB-2 within one year of your employment based on your performance on the job.
The fall back option in terms of your wife's career is dicey to count on in this economy, IMHO. Your H1-B is a better fallback option while your GC is pending....just my 2-cents! Good luck! :)

Where is the best place to learn Peoplesoft ? What is future scope of Peoplesoft ? Also where is a good place to learn SAP or Oracle Financials ?
Do local Univ or Community colleges - Computer Science or MIS departments offter these classes ? Does one need to learn C to learn these applications ?
My only prior programming experience is in Basic and Fortran languages eons ago.

I need to ask you a question as I don't see on LUD after FP in 485. However LUD changed on my approved I-140.
Was there any LUD on I-140 case after your FP?
