Hi folks,
Just got back from UK on Friday after a month of family time, medicals and our embassy interview! Wanted to let you all know that we were approved and happily back in the US!!
Congrats on the latest admin wins and movements in campaigns/projects. I wanted to say a huge thank you but not farewell to the many kind folks who kept my spirits high in the short time I have been with IV:
abhijitp, needhelp, digital2k, paskal, gsc999, waiting4gc, pappu, chanduv23, santb1975, nolaindian32, walking dude, ja1hind, logiclife and many more. All of you rock and America is very lucky to have such genuine and brilliant people like you. I wish you the very best for your own journey.

How do you know AP is approved for multiple entries?
I thought AP in general is for multiple entries.
Is there a way to tell from your approval notice it your AP was approved for multiple times?

If you read the AP it say in the bold letters that " This authorization is valid for multiple applications for parole into the US during the valid period noted above "

People voted Obama just for economy and jobs. I remember when Paulin was announced GOP was leading for 2 weeks. When Stock market started tanking with demise of Lehmen GOP started losing. Imstead of not concentrating on economy he started working on healthcare. So democrats lost. In this situation he will realise now and he will take economy as first priority and immigration will be last 10th priority. Immigration group may have defend many anti immigrant bills and memos in this year. But nothing will be passed either for or against immigrants. Status quo will continue for 2010. The good old time, bills are passed that are important and good for the general people and this some times was not popular, but now only the issues popular are are being taken and rather than voting on what is good, the law makers tend to go with what people like, and people's likes and dislikes keep changing and the same change work against them sometimes. Also people on one area does not like what is liked in other area and when we have a product that contains both, well the same people now unite and start to not like the final product and this goes on ..... It is same CHANGE that President Obama mentions too often, but the same change is Now liked by Republicans, and Dems did not like the change this time around. Also with the communication revolutions, the election campaign seems to have become much much long.... And Oh !! Well... now our President apart from Health Care Reform, Immigration Reform and climate change issue, also need to work on his re-election from now on, if he doesn't want the change he loves some much, in White House in 2012 election... HOPE - at least people in this group, see CHANGE for better, CHANGE from AOS to LPR .... Now, let us see what will this loss of filibuster majority by Dems do in the interim.... Only time can tell. Change we can believe in !!!

Substitute labors for EB2 should not IMPACT the delay more than 3 to 6 months. The reason is total EB2 labor india cases approved with PD in 2004 itself is 3500(Straight out of DOL database, published on this forum last year). Some of these cases may have been substituted, worst case, lets say 100% of them applied to I-485. Now the number is 3 times that of 3500. that is 10500(including spouse and 1 child on average).
Another thing you need to consider is If anycase had a PD before sept 2004 and was filed for I-485 before July 2007. That must have got the approval unless there was a namecheck delay.
That should reduce the number to half., 5500(including dependent cases). This is my educated guess, Please dont pick on me. It wont help anybody.
Below are 3 categories left in 2004 as per my analysis....
1) the applications filed in or after july 2007 OR
2) applications had a PD after sept 2004
3) Namecheck delayed cases.

When my labor certification was stuck at backlog elimination center, i was hoping that LC does not stand for "Lost Case" and now for some fre**king reason my early 2004 EB2 case is not being picked up when later cases are being approved, now I hope that GC does not stand for "Gone Case".

I will offer a different perspective. There are IT packages for every application nowadays. If you have expertize in your own field (Bio Engineering or Finance for example), try to think of unmet needs in your functional expertize areas and come up with a software product. That will be the best use of your knowledge. And do not forget IV, when your product becomes a big hit and you become a millionaire.;)

I believe the only reason EB visa numbers have gone unused in recent years is due to the the inability of FBI in completing namecheck/background check in a timely FIFO fashion. As a result USCIS is unable to approve pending I485s even when the visa numbers are available. This also keeps the VISA BULLETIN doors closed for new I485s.
This (besides labor backlog) spoils the FIFO for GCs.
Fixing FBI security check process will end such visa bulletin fiasco. I believe in recent year or two USCIS has processed various applications (including I485) in a very timely fashion (ofcourse there are exceptions). But many I485s get stuck in the security check bottleneck. Since, visa number is assigned at the approval time the whole FIFO goes to hell.
DOS should be issuing VISA BULLETIN based on pending approvable I485 (meaning security check complete) and fiscal year visa availability. If former is smaller than latter then bulletin dates should move forward based on approved I140s which have not applied for AOS. This is not rocket science but simple math which is lost on DOS, USCIS & FBI.
However, fixing FBI security checks (timely completion) will restore FIFO once labor backlog is gone.
FBI delays is the prime reason for this fiasco.
BTW my AOS is pending due to indefinite background check delay.

I,m July filer for I140/I485 and have not received my EAD yet so I visited local office and lady officer gave me Ticket number and ask me you can use this number to see the activity on my case regarding this latest request on the uscis website.
I have no clue where to put in this number...Anyone with suggestion or similar situation..

I am in a similer situation, Did not get a clear answer from any one, but i was told that if i use EAD then my son has to use the I-485 receipt notice and the ap ti renter and the receipt will keep him in legal status.
I am bit confusedon this though.

I've had my applications lost for 7 months. I filed a SR also. Nothing happened.
I still have 4 applications lost from 12.

My wife is not H4, she is working on EAD and we applied her I-485 last July. She has to travel to India for an emegency. We applied for AP last month, have the receipt but it is not approved. Is it okay if she travels to India without AP approval? I will be here and I can take her approved AP when I go there after two months.
I heard that if she travels without AP, her I-485 is considered abonded. Is this true? Can we apply for her H4 (as I am still on H1). Any advice on how to get her back?

I think you should not take this risk. Once you leave the country without AP, the application is considered as revoked as per my reading somewhere. I am trying to find link.

The one with the red roses is a bit too shallow depth of field, both in the first one and the one posted later. It looks like you focused on the central/foreground rose, and the one at the back looks just a little bit too much (or too little) out of focus to me. I know it's not easy to do these things...

For the arrangements, I didn't much care for the style, but for the single rose, I rather liked the result.
I convinced her that having some sharp detail was good, but she really liked the shallow, overexposed look. Hence the light colored backgrounds in most of the shots, and a central blossom. I am rather glad of that, since, when left to myself, I was having a devil of a time trying to get a DoF that kept the subject sharp, and put the background OoF. I think I need a bigger "studio" next time (instead of my dining table...).
OTOH, maybe studio work isn't really for me...

I have the notice of action for my I-140 approval. It doesn't mention an A# anywhere. Are you sure about this?

Waste of time. How many PhD's are there as compared to the others? There is already EB1/EB2-NIW for them
