To avoid being like the thread running a few days ago, I don't want to be responding to each response. However, I do want clear a few things:
I am not promoting one parenting technique over the other.
As I said, I agree with a few things and disagree with a few things the author talks about.
Having kids myself, I cannot think of a parent who would do harm to their own child. Each set of parents come with their own parenting skills that works for them and their children. I leave it at that.
I only posted this because my doc asked me of my opinion and I in turn asked the opinion of IV members. If this thread is going to turn ugly, lets stop it, that was not my intention.

Thanks for collecting the data.
Assuming that:
- The above people also voted in the recent EB2I Poll (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum5-all-other-green-card-issues/414123-poll-to-sample-pending-eb2-india-pds.html) and
- The ratio of EB2I applicants who post on IV to total EB2I applicants is 1:100
Then, the USCIS approved roughly 1500 apps today.
Also, since EB2-I was at 2002 a few months ago, it means that these are only spill over visas. If this year is like any of the previous years, then EB2-I should get another 10,000 or so. This should be enough (based on the recent poll) to flush out almost all EB2I 2004 and prior applications.

My story is:
I've been on J2 for a while, it expires in May 2011. I have a EAD and currentlt I'm working for a company as a professional.I have a 5 years of Bs degree.
Questions are:
1. Can my employer apply for a Perm Cert for me if they want.
2. After getting the perm cert. can my employer file I 140 under EB3 for me?
3. Will I be eligible for premium processing for I 140 application, in 15 days?
4. Lets say all the above steps are accomplished and I got approved for I 140, all happened prior to May 2011 (this is the actual date my J visa and EAD expires).
a. Then I'll still be working with my current EAD, right?
b. Then what happens after May 2011?
c. DO I need to wait to file I 485 or can I file it right after my I 140 approved?
d. how can I legally work in the USA after my EAD from J visa expires, but if I have approved I 140.

Can you please tell us what the RFE was about....Did you use AC21.
Me and my spouse both have RFE....so i dont know what to expect. And I have used AC21 and changed jobs....I am just hoping it is not related to this.
The RFE was for my I20's and OPT EAD card and Marriage certificate.

Hi Mr. Singh,
The whole reason for PERM labor certification is to determine whether there are no suitable US citizens who can do the job and it requires the company to apply for your permanent residency. If your company was able to find American citizens for the job I think you should be more worried about your job rather than filing for GC through this company.
Legally I would say that since your company has found the American citizens for the job posting then the job should go to them.
Best look for another job and apply for labor before Oct.

The whole reason for PERM labor certification is to determine whether there are no suitable US citizens who can do the job and it requires the company to apply for your permanent residency. My new year begins with another immigration issue..need some urgent advice.
My wife went to the US Consulate in Chennai today for her first time H-1 stamping. She completed her Phd in Biology from the US and has been working for almost a year for a US biotech company. The consular officer has asked her to submit additional information -221(g); mostly about her job and the company. I can't understand it! Most of the information asked has already been submitted to the INS in reponse to a H-1 RFE.
My wife has an Advance Parole document and EAD based on my I-485 application.
Can you suggest options for her?
1. can she forget about the H-1, not respond to the 221(g) and travel back on advance parole and start working on EAD?
2. If after submission of 221(g) her visa gets rejected, can she still use the Advance Parole to travel to US and work on her EAD?
3. Any other options/advice?

I have applied for my EAD and I-485 in the month of June '07 and all that i have recieved so far is my wife's EAD. I still did not recieve my EAD nor the finger prints notice nor the 485 yet. I have to move to IL from TX now and i am in a big confusion now. I heard that the mails from the USICS will not be forwarded to any new address by the USPS. If i would want to change my address with the USCIS now will it be a good move or is there any other alternative that you all could suggest me...Please advice me on this issue and help me out of this situation.

I changed the address and notified that with USCIS using AR-11 form. After you submit that form, you will be asked whether there are any pending applications with USCIS for which the address change has to be applied. If you select that option, one after other you can give your receipt numbers of I-485, I-131 and I-765 and change the addresses. It is not a big deal.
At the same time, I advice you not to change the address, if the EAD status says "Card Production Ordered" or "Approval Notice Sent".
Coming to Postal Dept, they will forward everything unimportant like flyers, stupid credit card offers, and yellow pages, but promptly return USCIS documents back to them. So, you need to call in CIS helpline and request them to resend the documents.
BTW for someone who applies in June 2007, I think it is too delayed if you did not receive EAD. Did you check with CIS why it is delayed?

If you don't know the answer, please don't reply. Just because this person asked about getting GC through his/ her baby, it does not mean the person is here illegally or if even this person is in the US. I friend of mine died in an accident in Mumbai and he is survived by his wife and two kids (the kids were born here in the US). His wife asked me the same question and after asking my lawyer, I had to tell her that there is no way she can apply for GC through her children unless her children turn 21.
Oh don't be such a sourpuss. This is an internet forum, and the last I checked, there was no forum rule stating replies had to be relevant, to the point, and incredibly boring. What are you, a Hitler wannabe? No one's holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read the replies anyway. If I remember correctly, there is information on the paperwork that you receive your card with that states something along the lines of:-
"Please check the information on the card, if any of it is correct please call XXX number / write to us at YYY"

I think you are in good shape to use AC21. Just make sure that you have the paystubs for the first 180 days after filing the I485 application in your present company if in case you get a RFE. That is one of the easy proof that you worked in company A for 180 days after fileing I-485.
