Please let me know if anyone/your friend has port PD using receipt#. Logically it should be possible, as USCIS should pull everything from DB using receipt#. The question is has anyone successfully done this?

What are you saying? Health Services dismal? I thought it was better than US in many aspects. The cost is cheap for treatment (unless you have some uncommon disease. Since the system is churning up so many doctors, there is a lot of competition. Even in small villages you will find many doctors competing for patients. Maybe that is not true for everywhere, but that is what I have seen in my home state Haryana.
Also the education system may not be perfect, but kids don't have to go to private schools, because public schools have run out of capacity. There are problems like not all-around development, and not all kids doing great in studies. But that is true even in US, unless you are sending your kids to a fine private school (which by the way you can do in India, if you have money). JMHO

For the first time, the US moved to the 6th Spot in the world rankings by the world economic forum (Europe based Institution). The main reason was because of the huge current account deficit and negative savings (mainly federal deficit) which is a threat to the US competitiveness. China moved down due to corruption etc. India moved up but any further movement will depend on structural reforms, especially controlling the huge public service and red-tape and a creaking infrastructure - power, roads, ports, water supply - all of which are run by the government. The health services in large parts of India is dismal and so is the public education system (K-12). With the left firmly controlling the ruling party, deregulation is slow and insipid, and it is the private sector which is basically contributing to the GDP and Competitiveness. No idea what to say, yes they have all rights but doesn't this never ends?

Some one entered into US legally in 2001, slogged(ing) 8 or more years for GC...so 2009..then 5 more years for citizen ship so 2014....with this news it looks like they need to keep up the paper work and employer contacts for 12 years, as well the family need to realize that their stay in US is temporary ???

What do yo mean by siwtching employer using AC-21 and again H1B status? Do you mean that you have a H1B with the new company? In that case isnt that just a H1B transfer? noa Ac021 switch?

I have pending I-485 and used AC21 to switch to the new company but I am still in H1B status. However, my wife is using EAD and she need to travel using AP.
Can anyone suggest whether there will be any issue in travelling outside USA, if I (Primary applicant) is still in H1B status but used AC-21 and wife is using EAD (has to use AP)?

It was clearly written in the last 2 pages of any Indian passport that, one should not handover passport to any one; unless other wise MOE (Ministry of External Affairs), Indian Court has ordered so.
It is illegal to:
1. Hand over passport to any one
2. Send through courier across borders
3. To Mortgage passport (a set of people will do in some cases; when they owe money)
4. In Possesen of others passport.
The imprisonment for doing so is 6 months to 3 years in jail or fine or may be both (to the best of my knowledge).
So be careful in doing so.

You will need to file an immigrant petition (Form I-130) for your child and wait for its approval. Your child will have to wait overseas until his/her priority is current. Thereafter, there will be some form of consular processing and the child will obtain an immigrant visa. Thereafter you can bring your child to the USA. It is a long process......

On the home page I see 3 Flash and 3 SL-based tutorials that were added recently. Sounds really biased to me.

I am not able to understand anything from your post. If you have a H1b you need to work in US and not in India. You can travel with H1 visa don't need B1 visa. Your W2 has 38K that means its less than the prevailing wage. You have a problem there?
If you are in US, Please be active in this website as well as find your state chapter. You can get helped from your state chapter collegues too. By the way, from where are you residing(which state i mean)?

1 ) I just read that EB2 has retrogressed to 2000.Now IF I ALREADY FOR 140 APPROVED AND IF I GOT EAD ALREADY does that Labor filing priority date apply to GC too ?
2) I got EAD and I am waiting for my GC.My 140 Is also approved .
I filed under EB2 and I got AP and EAD Card Nov 2008. Since then I am getting all paystubs ( from Aug 08) from the sponsoring employer. I left this employer in 2006 and joined him back in Jan 2008.
I believe I applied via NE Processing Center.
How long before I get my GC.
3) From Nov 2006 to Jan 08 working in India and come to US on B1 and returned back to India. Jan 08 continued with same employer.Would this cause problems with my GC.
What about the FBI name check thing - is that going to cause delays

Check with a good attorney but as far i know, if you get paid by the for-profit consulting company (even if they place you at non-profit org), you will be subjected to H1B cap.
If your H1B paperwork (i-765) is directly from a non-profit org (like Univ, Govt, etc), then only are you cap exempt.
Also remember, if you ever want to txfr from non-profit to for-profit, you will be again subjected to cap. This assumes you were never counted against the for-profit company cap in any fiscal year quota.

Since H4 is a derivative visa depending upon an H1, as long as the H1 is valid you can be in that status also whether you use EAD or not. However you can not be in H1 and using EAD. You have to get a new H1 to be again in H1 after using EAD. Anyway how does it matter whether it is valid or not? It becomes a problem even for H1 visa holders, only when I-485 is rejected.
